Ungodly believers often distort our perception of God and cause us to lose faith in him.
Some reborn believers are ignorant, insensitive and misguided. They judge us instead of loving us. They condemn our failures instead of showing mercy. They require us to earn their benevolence. They try to fix us first instead of accepting us as we are. They connect with us superficially instead of really caring about us.
God is not like this.
God loves us unconditionally. Once we are spiritually reborn he calls us friends. He never condemns us for our unrighteousness. His willingness to help us is not conditioned on our behavior. He accepts our brokenness and gently repairs us in the ways that befit us. As we walk in harmony with God he communes with us at deep, soulful levels.
