Divine Pursuit

Adam and Eve hid from God after they disobeyed him. They knew he disapproved of their defiance. They feared his retribution.

God went looking for them.

His motivation was not to condemn them or to punish them. Instead, he wanted to present Adam and Eve with the opportunity to restore their relationship with him.

God pursues us with the same intent each time we defy him.

He wants to meet up with us so we can confess our sins, accept his forgiveness, and resume our communion with him.

Reborn believers have no reason to hide from God. He never condemns us for our moral failures.

We may suffer the consequences of our sins, but God never punishes us for them.
