Divine Pursuit

Adam and Eve hid from God after they disobeyed him in the Garden of Eden. They feared his retribution because they knew he disapproved of their defiance.

God went looking for them.

Not so he could punish them, but to give them the chance to acknowledge their disobedience, receive his forgiveness, and restore their fellowship with him.

God pursues us with the same intent every time we defy him.

He wants to join us so we can confess our sins, accept his forgiveness, and resume our communion with him.

Spiritually reborn believers have no reason to hide from God. He never condemns us for our moral failures.

We may suffer the consequences of our sins, and they may prompt him to withhold some of his blessings, but he never penalizes us for them.
